A young boy was rescued by firefighters in New Hampshire after spending nine hours trapped between two boulders. Hillsborough Fire Department Chief Kenny Stafford told WMUR that they received a call around 6 p.m. on Sunday (September 15) that a boy, who is 11 or 12 years old, was stuck between boulders near Camp Wediko, an academic and in-house treatment center for children who are struggling with mental health disorders.
Officials called in technical teams with New Hampshire Fish and Game and the Indiana Cave Rescue Group to assist in freeing the trapped boy, who was stuck in a crevice about four to five feet down. It was so narrow he was unable to move his arms or legs.
The rescue crews decided the best course of action was to use lubricant and ropes to pull him up.
Officials said that the boy was safely pulled from between the giant rocks around 3:15 a.m., more than nine hours after they received the 911 call for help.
The boy suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
