The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is actively searching for Alejandro A. Tobarfuentes, an inmate who escaped from the Francisquito Conservation Camp in Los Angeles County on Sunday night. Staff discovered Tobarfuentes missing around 10 p.m., prompting an immediate emergency count to confirm his absence, according to a CDCR news release.
Tobarfuentes, 33, was serving a sentence of four years and eight months for first-degree burglary and displaying a forged driver’s license or ID, after being received from Orange County in May. He is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 164 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. At the time of his escape, he was wearing gray sweatpants, a gray sweatshirt, and an orange beanie.
The CDCR’s Office of Correctional Safety has deployed agents to locate Tobarfuentes, and local law enforcement has been notified. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact law enforcement, call 911, or reach out to Special Agent S. Rojas at 909-727-1947. Historically, 99 percent of those who have escaped from CDCR facilities have been apprehended.
