LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Britney Spears was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drug Thursday after being arrested near Los Angeles, which may lead to a charge of DUI.
The 44-year-old singer of such hits as “…Baby One More Time” and “Oops!… I Did It Again” was pulled over by California Highway Patrol officers and arrested about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in Ventura County, just north of Los Angeles.
According to Ventura County Sheriff’s inmate records, Spears, a mother of two, was booked at 3:02 a.m. Thursday and released at 6:07 a.m.
It’s unclear where in Ventura County she was pulled over and if she was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs or both.
In a deal estimated to be worth $200 million, Spears recently sold her music catalog which includes publishing rights, royalties, and ownership share in her music.
