A 13-year-old boy has been accused of committing 11 break-ins targeting young girls in Michigan, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. The incidents occurred in Pontiac and Detroit, with the most recent on February 4, when the suspect allegedly entered a home through an unlocked window, wearing a ski mask and armed with a knife. The suspect reportedly choked a sleeping 10-year-old girl, who screamed, alerting her mother. The mother saw the suspect fleeing the scene.
Sheriff Michael Bouchard described the situation as a “worst nightmare” for parents, emphasizing the emotional trauma inflicted on the victims. The break-ins began two years ago, and the teenager was apprehended last Thursday (February 6). The suspect’s parents have been cooperative with the investigation, but the specific charges against the boy remain unclear. The teenager is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on February 21.
The sheriff’s office noted that the suspect often looked for unlocked windows during the break-ins. The case has raised significant concern among parents in the area, as the invasions have caused distress and fear for the safety of their children.
