A tragic ski accident claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy on Tuesday (December 31) at Cranmore Mountain Resort in North Conway, New Hampshire. The boy, whose name has not been released, was skiing on the Bandit Trail, an intermediate-level slope, when he collided with a tree around 10:45 a.m. Despite wearing a helmet, the impact left him unconscious in the snow.
Cranmore Mountain Ski Patrol quickly responded, performing CPR and transporting him to the base of the mountain. He was then taken to MaineHealth Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Conway Police Chief Christopher Mattei expressed his condolences, stating, “On behalf of the Conway Police Department and all the first responders who assisted, I would like to offer my deepest condolences to the family members of the 12-year-old boy.”
The Cranmore Mountain Resort also extended their sympathies, with a spokesperson saying, “The entire Cranmore family grieves this tragic loss.”
