Baby Emmanuel’s Father Pleads Guilty

The father of the missing 7-month-old, Emmanuel Haro, pleaded guilty to all charges, including second-degree murder. Jake Haro broke down in tears in the courtroom as he admitted to killing his infant son. Emmanuel’s mother, Rebecca Haro, still faces murder charges and continues to plead not guilty.

Baby Emmanuel was reported missing on August 14, when Rebecca Haro claimed she was attacked and the baby was kidnapped in a Yucaipa parking lot. However, inconsistencies in their story led authorities to search their Cabazon home multiple times, resulting in their arrest and charges of murder. Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin stated, “The filing in this case reflects our belief that baby Emmanuel was abused… over time, and that eventually, because of that abuse, he succumbed to those injuries” (ABC7).

Despite these allegations, Jake Haro had previously denied claims of prolonged abuse in a recent jailhouse interview. The investigation into the disappearance and presumed death of baby Emmanuel involved multiple agencies, and while his remains have not been found, investigators believe they have a strong indication of their location (KESQ).

Anyone with information about the case or Emmanuel’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Homicide Detail at 909-890-4904 or submit an anonymous tip to We-Tip.
