CHATSWORTH (CNS) – A father and son found dead in Chatsworth were identified by authorities Wednesday, as the investigation continued into what police said could be a murder-suicide.
Police were called at about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday to the 21000 block of Plummer Street near De Soto Avenue regarding a possible suicide, Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton of the Los Angeles Police Department told reporters.
Jose Romo Guerra, 35, and Michael Romo Sandoval, 10, both of Canoga Park, died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, which reported that the pair were father and son. Autopsies were pending. Other details were not released.
Early news reports stated that the bodies were found inside a vehicle, but Hamilton clarified that police found the pair outside of the vehicle.
Asked whether it was murder-suicide, Hamilton told reporters that was a “working theory.”
Police did not say how the victims died and no weapons were recovered at the scene. The investigation was continuing.
