Arson Suspect Booked for Fire in Front of Police Station

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – A arsonist suspect was arrested this week after surveillance video appeared to show him lighting a fire outside a police station.

The fire at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division was quickly contained by a front desk officer and the watch commander around 7:15 a.m. Monday, according to the LAPD.

Surveillance footage appeared to show 37-year-old Dimitrios Vlahopouliotis lighting an object near the front door of the station. Officers canvassed the immediate vicinity and were able to take the suspect into custody, according to the LAPD.

Vlahopouliotis was arrested for arson, and had an outstanding felony warrant for arson.
