An anarchist with a lengthy criminal history was arrested for allegedly putting out a $45,000 hit on U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi in a video shared on TikTok, federal authorities confirmed via the New York Post.
Tyler Maxon Avalos, 39, was arrested on October 16 and charged with interstate transmission of a threat to injure another person after the FBI received a tip about an alleged murder-for-hire plot on his social media account earlier in the month. The post included a photo of Bondi with a “sniper-scope red dot” on her forehead, as well as the caption: “WANTED: Pam Bondi / REWARD: 45,000 ‘ DEAD OR ALIVE / (PREFERABLY DEAD),” according to charging court documents.
Avalos allegedly added: “Cough cough. When they don’t serve us, then what?” under the photo, according to a screengrab. The suspect is reported to have a lengthy history of past convictions including stalking in 2022, and domestic assault in 2016, and is reported to have anarchist ties, federal agents confirmed via the New York Post.
A screengrab of the alleged TikTok post shows that Avalos’ username is “Wacko,” which includes the anarchy symbol used as the ‘a,’ and his profile also included a link to ‘An Anarchist FAQ book.”
Bondi, who previously served as the 37th Florida attorney general from 2011 to 2019, as well as one of President Donald Trump‘s defense lawyers during his firs impeachment trial, was nominated as attorney general in November after former congressman Matt Gaetz withdrew from consideration and was confirmed by the U.S. Senate in a 54-46 vote in February, one day prior to being sworn in.
