LOS ANGELES (CNS) – American Airlines flights across the nation were disrupted Tuesday by a reported technical issue, but the ground stop has been lifted and flights have resumed at airports, including Los Angeles International Airport.
The disruption came on Christmas Eve, one of the busiest travel days of the year.
“Our teams are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, and we apologize to our customers for the inconvenience,” American said in a statement.
The Federal Aviation Administration lifted the ground stop for American Airlines flights Tuesday.
The Transportation Security Administration expects to screen nearly 40 million travelers from Dec. 19 to Jan. 2, an increase of 6.2% from 2023.
