Alleged Gang Member Arrested in Glendale Shooting Death

BURBANK (CNS) – A 30-year-old man has been arrested in the shooting death of a rival gang member in Glendale, authorities said Tuesday.

On Sept. 10, at about 4:40 p.m., officers responded to reports of a male who was shot in the Victory Boulevard and Allen Avenue area of Glendale, where the victim was dropped off and treated at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, according to the Burbank Police Department.

“When officers arrived, they spoke with the medical staff who confirmed the male had sustained a single gunshot wound and was transferred to a trauma center for additional care,” the department reported. “Detectives later spoke with the victim who was treated for his injury and released.”

The suspect, who police said was a “known” local gang member, was identified as Ramon Alberto Carrillo of Glendale.

Detectives learned Carrillo was driving in the area with his girlfriend and 7-year-old child, when he saw a vehicle occupied by three other people who he believed were from a rival gang, according to police.

Carrillo fired multiple shots at the vehicle, struck one of the passengers and fled the scene, police said.

On Oct. 30, Burbank detectives arrested Carrillo in Chatsworth. Police said he was out on bail for an unrelated felony firearm and drug possession case.

Three counts of attempted murder and one count of shooting at an occupied vehicle were filed against Carrillo. He remains held without bail, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

The Glendale Police Department assisted with the investigation.
