Alabama Point Guard Aden Holloway Arrested

Alabama Crimson Tide point guard Aden Holloway was reportedly arrested for possession of marijuana Monday (March 16) morning, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department confirmed to Bama247.

Holloway, 21, was charged with first-degree possession of marijuana and failure to affix a tax stamp after the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force conducted a search at a residence on 30th Avenue and found more than a pound of marijuana, paraphernalia and cash. The point guard was transported to Tuscaloosa County Jail and was reportedly being held on a $5,000 bond.

Holloway was previously involved in a traffic stop conducted by University of Alabama campus police, the spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department confirmed. The point guard, who is the Crimson Tide’s second leading scorer, was arrested hours after Alabama was selected as the No. 4 seed in the Midwest region for the 2026 NCAA Men’s Basketball March Madness Tournament on Sunday (March 15).

The Tide will face No. 13 Hofstra with tipoff scheduled for 3:15 p.m. ET at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa on Friday (March 20). The winner of the opening round game would face either No. 5 Texas Tech or No. 12 Akron in the second-round.

Holloway averaged a career-best 16.8 points, 3.8 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 28.4 minutes per game during the 2025-26 season.
