A Frontier Airlines passenger caused a disturbance on a flight from Denver to Houston on Tuesday (February 4) night by cracking a window with his foot. The incident occurred 20 minutes into the flight when the man began punching the seat in front of him, prompting the woman seated there to request a seat change. After she moved, the man kicked the window, cracking the interior Plexiglas cover panel. Fortunately, the damage did not threaten the plane’s safety.
Passenger Victoria Clark, who was traveling with her three-year-old, described the chaotic scene to KHOU. She noted that flight attendants were not immediately present, leading her to panic and call for help.
“It seems like everyone in his row and in front of him kind of moved away. And so it’s just me, and this man, and I start freaking out. I’m having a panic attack, tears. I’m screaming like, ‘Somebody come help us.’ I’m scared,” Clark said.
Clark’s fiancé, along with five other passengers, stepped in to restrain the man using shoelaces and flex cuffs. The man remained restrained for the remaining hour and a half of the flight.
Upon landing at Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport at 11:10 p.m., police detained the man and escorted him off the plane in a wheelchair. The man’s identity and motive remain unknown, and while Frontier Airlines has not pressed charges, the FBI is investigating the incident.
