Adults Invade Riverside School to Attack Student

A group of adults forced their way onto the campus of Martin Luther King High School in Riverside on Tuesday to attack a student. The incident followed an earlier altercation between students, during which one student called family members for support. The adults then arrived at the school and initiated another fight with the student involved in the initial altercation.

According to FOX 11, the group of adults not only attacked the student but also assaulted school employees who attempted to intervene. A student described the scene, saying, “It was like 20 people coming in behind him too.” The Riverside Police Department is investigating the incident, and officers arrived at the school after the group had fled. Paramedics treated the student for non-serious injuries.

Parents and students have expressed concerns over the breach in security, questioning why the school was not locked down during the incident. Vanessa Brogdon, a parent, stated, “Our students and staff were not notified that this was happening on the campus.”

In response, the school administration has pledged to review and enhance safety protocols. A letter sent to parents explained that campus supervisors followed the group and alerted law enforcement, who responded quickly. The school is working with the district to strengthen safety measures and ensure the safety of students and staff.

The Riverside Police Department is investigating the adults involved for trespassing and assault. Officer Ryan Railsback emphasized the severity of the situation, stating, “To have your family, your adult family, come up and now instigate more violence, that’s completely unacceptable.”
