Adult Film Star Sophia Leone’s Cause Of Death Revealed

Adult film star Sophia Leone‘s cause of death was ruled to be an accidental drug overdose, authorities in New Mexico announced on Tuesday (August 20) via the New York Post.

Leone, 26, was found dead in her Albuquerque apartment on March 1 in what was initially being investigated as “suspicious” and “unique” despite no reported signs of trauma on her body. Albuquerque Police confirmed the accidental overdose report, though not specifying which substances were ingested.

Leone’s mother told officers that her daughter had a history of heavy drinking and had experienced suicidal thoughts, according to a police report obtained by TMZ.

Albuquerque Police previously denied a claim made by Leone’s agency, 101 Modeling, that her death was being investigated as a “robbery and homicide. Leone broke into the adult film industry in 2014 at the age of 18 and starred in more than 80 films, according to her IMDB page.

Reports of the Miami’s native’s death came days after the family of fellow adult film actress Emily Willis revealed she was “fighting for her life” in a “vegetative coma” one month after suffering cardiac arrest at a rehabilitation center in Malibu, as well as the recent deaths of former adult film actresses Kagney Linn Carter, 36, in February and Jesse Jane, 43, in January.
