Actor Pat Finn, best known for roles on The Middle, Seinfeld and Friends, has died at the age of 60 following a battle with cancer, a representative confirmed in a statement to the New York Post on Wednesday (December 24).
Finn died at 10:30 p.m. on Monday (December 22), according to the representative.
“It is with profound sadness and grief that the Finn family announces the passing of beloved comedic actor, Pat Finn,” the rep said.
“In 2022, Pat battled bladder cancer, went into remission, but the cancer returned and metastasized. He was a warrior in every sense of the word,” the statement added.
Finn appeared on the ABC series The Middle in the recurring role of Bill Norwood for 23 episodes from 2011 to 2018. The Illinois native also appeared on Murphy Brown, Seinfeld, The Drew Carey Show, That 70s Show, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, House, Marvin Marvin, 2 Broke Girls, The Goldbergs and Friends, playing the role of Dr. Roger, who dated Courteney Cox‘s character, Monica Geller, in two alternate universe episodes.
Finn also appeared in several films including Dude, Where’s My Car?, Funky Monkey, Cloud 9, I Love You, Beth Cooper and It’s Complicated. The 60-year-old attended college at Marquette University and played rugby with late comedian Chris Farley, with the two later living together in Chicago when they joined the Second City comedy troupe early in their careers.
Finn was married to his wife, Donna, since 1990 and the couple shared three children.
