Actor Julian Ortega, best known for his role in the Netflix series Elite, has died at the age of 41 after suffering cardiac arrest on Zahora Beach in Barbate, Sprain, on Sunday (August 25), The Sun reports.
Ortega was pronounced dead after paramedics attempted to revive him for 30 minutes. Numerous fans and colleagues shared emotional comments on the actor’s Instagram posts, with his last one shared on March 19.
Ortega appeared in six episodes of the Netflix Spanish teen drama Elite, which followed privileged teenagers in an elite high school home, as the manager of the restaurant La Cabaña. The series was streamed by more than 20 million Netflix users during its first month of release in 2018 and ran for eight seasons.
Ortega was also credited for the Spanish shows 4 estrellas, The Countryside, Caronte, Untameable and La sue se avecina and was scheduled to appear in the upcoming film Trompeta prior to his dead, according to his IMDb page. Ortega was also the son of actress Gloria Muñoz, best known for roles in Pellet, Hopelessly Devout and The Flower of My Secret, as well as the television shows A Different View and Dangerous Moms and had recently appeared in the Apple TV+ series Land of Women alongside Eva Longoria.
