The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles will host “JAWS: The Exhibition,” celebrating the 50th anniversary of Steven Spielberg’s iconic film. The exhibition will run from September 14, 2025, to July 26, 2026, and will feature over 200 original items, including costumes, props, and concept art from the 1975 blockbuster.
This is the first exhibition of its scale at the museum dedicated to a single film. According to NBC Los Angeles, the exhibition was announced during the 97th Academy Awards telecast. Curated with access to collections from Steven Spielberg, The Amblin Hearth Archive, and NBCUniversal Archives, it will offer a scene-by-scene exploration of the film.
Visitors will see notable items like a Chief Brody costume worn by Roy Scheider and a prop dorsal fin. The exhibition will also include interactive elements and behind-the-scenes insights into the film’s production challenges and success as the first summer blockbuster.
The exhibition is organized by Senior Exhibitions Curator Jenny He and Assistant Curator Emily Rauber Rodriguez, with support from the Givenchy Family and others. As noted by Solzy at the Movies, the museum will also host related film screenings and public programs.
“JAWS: The Exhibition” promises to be a major attraction, especially around the Fourth of July weekend in 2026, closely tied to the film’s setting.
