Thieves staged a fake medical emergency to steal two bulldog puppies from Perfect Pets, a pet store in Centennial, Colorado, on Friday (February 21). This incident marks the second robbery at the store this month. According to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, three men entered the store separately, with one pretending to have a seizure to distract employees and customers.
As the staff rushed to help, another man grabbed two English bulldog puppies, each valued at $4,299, from a locked pen. Store owner Jens Larsen reported that employees attempted to stop the thief, even tackling his leg, but he managed to escape. The suspect dropped the puppies during the struggle but quickly recovered them and fled in a gold Cadillac Escalade.
Timothy Davis, 37, who allegedly faked the seizure, has been arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, theft, and drug possession. Police are still searching for the other suspects, including a Black man in a large black coat and a white or Hispanic man in a blue and white beanie. The driver of the Cadillac, believed to be a female, remains unidentified.
The store has been targeted before, with a previous theft involving a woman hiding a puppy in a baby stroller. Bulldogs, especially French bulldogs, are common targets for thieves due to their high resale value, ranging from $3,000 to $10,000. Perfect Pets is offering a $1,000 reward for each dog’s return and $2,000 for information leading to the arrest of the thief.
