Trump Reveals He Has Left Plans To ‘Obliterate’ Iran If It Assassinates Him

President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday (February 4) that he has instructed his advisers to “obliterate” Iran if it assassinates him. During a press conference at the White House, Trump stated, “If they did that, they would be obliterated,” while signing a presidential memorandum aimed at increasing pressure on Tehran. The memorandum calls for maximum economic sanctions and enforcement mechanisms against Iran.

While Trump expressed willingness to negotiate with Iran to prevent its nuclear development, he emphasized the need for strict sanctions. The U.S. aims to reduce Iran’s oil exports to zero, impacting its economy significantly.

Federal authorities have been monitoring threats from Iran against Trump and other officials for years. In 2020, Trump ordered the killing of Qassem Soleimani, a top Iranian military leader, which has led to ongoing tensions. Recently, the Justice Department revealed an Iranian plot to assassinate Trump involving Farhad Shakeri, an alleged Iranian government asset. Shakeri, who remains at large in Iran, was reportedly instructed to plan Trump’s assassination.

Iranian officials have dismissed these allegations, with a foreign ministry spokesman calling them a plot to complicate Iran-U.S. relations.

Trump’s comments were made before a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
