Florida Woman Calls 911 To Order Pizza, Leads Cops To Her Alleged Attacker

A woman in Volusia County, Florida, used her quick thinking to report an assault by disguising her 911 call as a pizza order. The incident occurred on October 19, and the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office released the details of the case, praising the woman’s resourcefulness.

The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, made the call around 3:45 a.m., appearing to order a pizza. Sensing something was amiss, the dispatcher asked additional questions to confirm if the woman was in danger. The woman was unable to provide her exact location, but the sheriff’s communications staff was able to track down her location, leading deputies to a field where the woman was being attacked.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a man, identified as Luis Hernandez-Moncayo, on top of the woman, who was shouting for help. The woman later told deputies that she knew Hernandez-Moncayo and that they had been drinking at a bar together. Everything was normal until he consumed cocaine, which made him violent. She alleged that he assaulted her multiple times, including choking her.

Hernandez-Moncayo, identified as an illegal migrant, was arrested and is now facing several charges, including felony battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, and attempted sexual battery, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.
