On Friday, officials from the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control and the Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning conducted a search at the home of actress Linda Blair, best known for her role in ‘The Exorcist’ as part of an investigation into Blair’s kennel operation, which reportedly houses over 100 dogs.
The operation aimed to inspect the property for compliance with county codes, as Blair’s kennel permits expired in 2023. Despite attempts to contact her, officials had not received a response, prompting the search. The inspection sought to ensure the safety and welfare of the animals and people on the property.
Blair, who founded the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation in 2003 to rescue and rehabilitate animals, addressed the situation in an Instagram video. She assured followers that both she and the animals are fine, noting that the issue involved paperwork and diagrams.
The Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control stated that the investigation is ongoing and declined to comment on the number of animals found on the property. Blair has not been accused of any criminal conduct.
The foundation lists at least 128 dogs available for adoption, though it’s unclear if all are housed at Blair’s property. As the investigation continues, Blair remains committed to her mission of animal rescue and rehabilitation.
