LAPD Officer Shoots Dog in Canoga Park

A Canoga Park resident, Marie Marseille, reported that her dog, Jamison, was shot and killed by a Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer outside her condominium complex on Saturday night.

According to Marseille, she was attempting to secure Jamison when the dog managed to slip outside and approached an officer before the shooting occurred.

The incident has sparked significant outrage in the community, with a video of Marseille grieving over her dog gaining more than two million views online. Neighbors have expressed their anger and support for Marseille, while the LAPD has not yet issued a public statement regarding the incident.

The case is reminiscent of other recent incidents involving police officers and dogs in Los Angeles. For example, in a separate incident in South Los Angeles, an LAPD officer shot a family’s pet dog after it allegedly bit another officer. The dog survived, and the officer was not seriously injured.

As reported by LAPD Online, investigations into officer-involved shootings are ongoing and subject to change as new evidence is reviewed. The Force Investigation Division is expected to look into the Canoga Park incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
