WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Garcia, formerly known as Nikki Bella, broke her silence following her husband, former Dancing with the Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev, was arrested on domestic violence charges earlier this week.
“This is a private matter, and Nikki asks for privacy for her and her family at this time,” a rep for Garcia told Us Weekly in a statement shared on Friday (August 30).
Chigvinstev was charged with felony domestic violence on Thursday (August 29) and released on a $25,000 bond, according to online jail records. A conviction can be charged as either a misdemeanor or felony, which may result in a sentence of up to four years in state prison, as well as a maximum fine of $6,000.
Garcia and Chigvinstev share a 4-year-old son and celebrated their second wedding anniversary days before his arrest.
“Happy anniversary my love , can’t see my life with out you You are my everything ❤️,” Chigvinstev wrote on an Instagram post featuring two of the couple’s wedding photos.
“Happy Anniversary Click 🥹❤️🔥💋 Love you so much!” Garcia commented on the post.
Garcia also shared an Instagram post featuring a video celebrating the couple’s anniversary, as well as a caption quoting Elvis Pressley‘s song ‘Just Can’t Help Falling in Love.’
“This song is our love story. I’ll never forget where I was when I asked Jesus about Artem,” Garcia wrote. “Having a conversation with He & God. How my feelings felt too soon. It all felt too fast. And then this song came on. And that’s when I knew that I was falling in love with him and that it was all meant to be. Happy Anniversary @theartemc I love you!”
