PLAYA DEL REY (CNS) – A man and a 1-year-old child were killed and a woman was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash in Playa del Rey Sunday, and the driver responsible for the crash was still at large, authorities said.
The driver fled the scene on foot, leaving behind a white Jeep at the location, according to Officer Norma Eisenman of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Division.
Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at 4:34 a.m. Sunday to 6800 Vista Del Mar Lane, just south of Culver Boulevard and a couple of blocks from the ocean. Authorities said the three victims were in the second vehicle when the crash occurred. A man who was approximately 30 years old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two critically injured victims, a woman who was approximately 30 years old and the child, were rushed to a hospital, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
The child was later pronounced dead, Eisenman said.
