LASD Investigates Two West Hollywood Shootings In Less Than A Week

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CNS) – For the second time in less than a week, detectives were investigating a shooting in West Hollywood after a man was wounded while walking with his family, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is working Wednesday to determine if the cases of gun violence were related.

A man was shot Wednesday while walking with his family in West Hollywood.

The shooting occurred shortly after noon Tuesday in the 7900 block of Norton Avenue, according to the sheriff’s department.

The victim was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, although his vital signs were stable, authorities said.

According to various reports from the scene, the man was walking with his family when he was shot. He was seen conscious and alert being loaded into an ambulance.

Investigators indicated that an unspecified number of rounds were fired toward the man. No other injuries were reported. It was unclear if the victim was the specific target of the attack, and there was no immediate information about a possible suspect or an arrest.

The shooting follows another one at approximately 8:45 p.m. Thursday, when a woman standing on a balcony in the 1000 block of North Vista Street, about a block south of Santa Monica Boulevard, was shot and wounded.

The woman was taken to a hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.

A lieutenant at the West Hollywood Station said Friday that detectives there were investigating if the shooter had some kind of connection to the woman.

Anyone with information regarding either shooting was urged to contact the West Hollywood Station at 310-855-8850. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org.
