Two separate, politically charged events are set to converge at Disneyland in Anaheim this Saturday, a pro-Trump gathering inside the park and a counter-event outside its gates, drawing attention to the theme park ahead of what could be an eventful day for visitors.
Disney is not affiliated with either event.
According to LAist, both gatherings are organized entirely by outside groups, similar in structure to other unofficial park events like Dapper Dan Day and Bats Day. Park officials declined to respond to requests for comment.
The 805 Patriots, a political group based in the 805 area code region of Southern California, organized the event they’re calling “Patriots in the Park.” The group describes it as a peaceful, family-oriented day at the park for conservative supporters of President Trump. Attendees are encouraged to wear red hats, shirts, and accessories permitted under Disneyland’s rules of entry.
The group has been clear that the event is not a protest or demonstration. “It is NOT a march, protest, demonstration or political action. Attendees will enter the park as everyday guests and are expected to follow all Disneyland guidelines,” the group said in a statement. Signs, flags, and disruptive conduct are prohibited under Disneyland’s rules.
The Brown Berets of California, a Chicano community organization, is planning a counter-event called “Disneyland Raza Invasion” outside the park’s main entrance on Saturday from 7 to 11 a.m. As reported by LAist, organizers described the gathering on social media as a “peaceful, united presence” intended to “stand against hate and intimidation.” The group has spoken out against President Trump administration policies, including immigration raids.
According to FOX LA, the 805 Patriots acknowledged the counter-event in a statement, noting that “this overlap is coincidental, and both groups intend to enjoy the park without interference.”
Both groups say their events are peaceful. As of Friday, no additional security measures or official statements from Disneyland had been announced.
