Frozen meatballs sold at Aldi stores across the United States have been recalled due to concerns that they’ve potentially been contaminated with metal fragments, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on Sunday (February 22).
Rosina Food Products, Inc., a company based in West Seneca, New York, recalled approximately 9,462 pounds of ready-to-eat frozen meatball products produced on July 30, 2025, which include the following: “32-oz. printed poly film bag packages of fully cooked frozen ‘Bremer FAMILY SIZE ITALIAN STYLE MEATBALLS’ containing ‘about 64 meatballs per package’ with ‘BEST BY’ date of ’10/30/26′ with timestamps between 17:08 through 18:20 printed on the back of the label.”
The recalled products include the establishment number “EST. 4286B” inside the USDA mark of inspection and have a 15-month shelf-life. The meatballs were shipped to Aldi supermarkets nationwide before the issue was discovered after FSIS received a consumer complaint regarding metal fragments found within the product.
The FSIS hasn’t received any confirmed reports of injury caused by consumption of the recalled meatballs, though any consumers concerned should contact a health care provider. FSIS is concerned that some recalled items may still be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers and anyone who purchased the items is urged not to consume them, rather dispose of them or return them to their place of purchase.
