Trump Reacts To Super Bowl Halftime Show

President Donald Trump shared a lengthy post on his Truth Social account bashing Bad Bunny‘s Super Bowl LX Halftime Show performance on Sunday (February 8).

“The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence. Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World. This ‘Show’ is just a ‘slap in the face’ to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day — including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History! There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD — And, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” Trump wrote.

Bad Bunny’s performance, which received preconceived criticism from Trump and his conservative followers for months, featured numerous celebrity appearances, including performances by Lady Gaga and fellow Puerto Rican native Ricky Martin, and concluded with the message, “the only thing more powerful than hate is love.” The selection of the six-time GRAMMY winner drew criticism from conservatives due to the Puerto Rican rapper having previously said he didn’t plan to tour the continental United States over fears of the newly implemented ICE deportation restrictions and raids potentially targeting his concerts.

Bad Bunny had previously made an appearance during the Shakira and Jennifer Lopez halftime show at Super Bowl LIV in 2020. The three-time GRAMMY winner has emerged as one of the most streamed artists both within the Spanish-speaking world and beyond, having crossed over into several other areas of pop culture beyond music, which included competing in multiple WWE wrestling matches, as well as hosting Saturday Night Live and having a supporting role in Happy Gilmore 2.
