Lululemon Athletica Inc. has temporarily halted online sales of its new “Get Low” leggings following customer complaints that the workout attire is “see-through” during certain movements, such as bending or squatting. The decision was announced on Tuesday (January 20) after Reddit users voiced their concerns about the transparency of the leggings on the social media platform.
Despite the pause in online sales, the “Get Low” collection remains available in Lululemon stores across North America. A company spokesperson explained that the pause allows Lululemon to “better understand some initial guest feedback and support with product education.”
The Vancouver-based athleisure brand designed the “Get Low” line to support training with seamless technology, offering a sculpted look and feel in a weightless, fast-drying fabric. Lululemon plans to reintroduce the collection to its e-commerce platforms soon.
This incident is not Lululemon’s first issue with transparency. In 2024, the company withdrew its “Breezethrough” leggings shortly after their launch due to similar complaints. As Lululemon navigates these challenges, it is also undergoing leadership changes, with CEO Calvin McDonald set to step down at the end of January. The company is facing increased competition in the crowded athleisure market, with its stock falling nearly 50% over the past year, though it has seen a 20% rise in the last quarter.
