New York City’s alleged dine-and-dash influencer Pei Chung was evicted from her luxury Williamsburg apartment on Tuesday (December 2) by her landlord, former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer. Chung, currently in jail for allegedly skipping out on expensive restaurant bills, was evicted from her $3,350-a-month apartment at 416 Kent Ave. after her lease expired in August 2024. According to court records, she owed approximately $8,000 by the end of her lease and potentially accumulated over $50,000 in unpaid rent by staying in the unit beyond the lease term.
Neighbors and building staff described her as a troublesome tenant, citing repeated disturbances and disorderly conduct in the hallway
The eviction was carried out by City Marshal Robert Renzulli, who confirmed that the apartment was vacant at the time of the eviction. Renzulli spent about an hour changing the locks, and Chung’s belongings, including furniture and clothing, were left inside. According to city rules, the landlord must hold the items for 30 days before disposing of them. However, it is expected that they will consult with attorneys before taking any action.
Chung gained notoriety for allegedly pretending to be a food influencer, dining at upscale restaurants, and posting about the meals on Instagram as if they were sponsored. She has been arrested at least 10 times for allegedly skipping out on gourmet meals.
The eviction adds to Chung’s legal troubles, as she remains in jail facing charges related to her alleged dine-and-dash activities. According to TMZ, Chung could be deported for her alleged crimes and overstaying her visa. She came to the United States in 2019 on a student visa in 2019 and attended Pratt Institute until 2021.
Her current immigration status is unknown, though an immigration warrant was issued following her arrest.
