The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards take center stage Sunday night at the Peacock Theater in Downtown LA, and if the odds hold, the winners may be as predictable as they are prestigious. Apple TV+ comedy The Studio leads with 23 nominations, already racking up nine Creative Arts wins. Fellow Apple hit Severance dominates the drama field with a massive 27 nods, while Netflix’s global sensation Adolescence looks set to claim its share of trophies.
On the acting side, veterans Harrison Ford, Kathy Bates, and Jean Smart are among the heavy favorites to win. One of the most talked-about storylines of the night, though, could be Stephen Colbert’s Late Show, which has never won in its category but could finally break through — airing, ironically, on CBS, the very network that canceled him.
While surprise upsets are always possible, most industry watchers predict a night dominated by the shows with the most nominations, cementing their places in Emmy history.
