A fast-moving wildfire, known as the Pickett Fire, erupted Thursday afternoon near Calistoga, threatening several renowned Napa Valley wineries. The fire, which started around 3 p.m. on Pickett Road, quickly expanded to over 2,100 acres by Friday morning, with 0% containment, according to Cal Fire.
The blaze is moving southeast, posing a significant threat to life and property in the area. Evacuation orders and warnings have been issued for several zones, urging residents to leave immediately. Firefighters, along with night-flying helicopters, are working tirelessly to control the fire. Numerous air tankers from across the state are conducting fire suppression missions as conditions permit.
