President Biden Praises Campaign Staff In First Comments Since Dropping Out

President Joe Biden made his first public comments since withdrawing from the presidential race over the weekend. On Monday (July 22), Biden called the headquarters of his former campaign to thank the staff for their hard work.

He praised the staff, calling them an “amazing team.”

“I know it’s hard because you poured your heart and soul into me,” Biden told the staff over the phone.

Biden is still recovering from COVID-19 but said that he plans to be “fully engaged” in the final six months of his presidency.

“I’m going to be on the road and I’m not going anywhere,” Biden said. “I won’t be on the ticket but I am still going to be fully, fully engaged. I’ve got six months left in my presidency. I’m determined to get as much done as I possibly can, both foreign policy and domestic policy.”

Biden then told the staff to fully support Vice President Kamala Harris, who he endorsed to take his place on the Democratic ticket.

“Embrace her, she’s the best,” Biden said, as staff members cheered.
