Gunman Shoots And Injures Two, Then Himself at Yorba Linda Park

On Sunday, a shooting at Featherly Regional Park in Yorba Linda left three men hospitalized, including the suspected shooter. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded to the incident around 2:40 p.m., urging the public to avoid the area.

The altercation reportedly began earlier in the day between the gunman and one of the victims. According to KTLA, the suspect returned to the park, attempted to run over a victim with his vehicle, and then opened fire before turning the gun on himself. Three individuals, including the shooter, were taken to the hospital, while a fourth person was treated at the scene for minor injuries caused by the vehicle.

The park was hosting a family-friendly event for Volkswagen enthusiasts when the shooting occurred. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with many families present. Andrea Montano, a parkgoer, recounted hearing gunshots while at a birthday party for a child. She quickly took cover with her daughter in their RV.

NBC Los Angeles reported that the incident is believed to be isolated, with no ongoing threat to the public. The identities and conditions of those hospitalized have not been released.

Authorities continue to investigate the shooting and are asking anyone with information to contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Department or submit anonymous tips through Orange County Crime Stoppers.
