Influencer Vanessa Konopka, a German vlogger who ran the travel account ‘Happiness Crossing’ with her boyfriend, Fernando Nhãn, died at the age of 28 following a battle with pneumonia and severe liver damage, Nhãn revealed in a post shared on the couple’s Facebook account last month (h/t the New York Post)
“This morning, on March 7th, Vanessa passed away. She always loved connecting with you all, and her love for the Philippines was beyond words,” the post on the couple’s ‘Fernando and Vanessa’ Facebook account states. “Once again, I can only ask for your prayers so that God may bring comfort to the hearts of her loved ones. I trust in Him, I know He is with Vanessa and I know God is always with us.
“Kushka, if you are perhaps reading this somewhere, thank you so much for teaching me how to love myself doesn’t matter what other people think, she showed me how to love myself, and how to follow my dreams! I will forever love you and we may see each other again.”
Konopka documented her health battle in recent months, which forced her to spend the rest of her life bedbound in the Philippines as she was unable to speak, eat and walk. The 28-year-old returned to social media in the weeks leading up to her death as her condition appeared to show slight improvements.
The couple’s ‘Happiness Crossing’ vlog had previously documented their travels and had more than 39,400 followers on Instagram, as well as 106,000 subscribers on YouTube.
