Taylor Schabusiness, a convicted murderer serving a life sentence, attacked her lawyer during a court hearing on Friday (April 4) in Wisconsin. The incident occurred during a preliminary hearing, where Schabusiness scowled at her attorney before attempting to lunge at him. Court guards quickly intervened, tackling her to the ground before she could reach her lawyer.
Schabusiness is currently serving life without parole at the Taycheedah Correctional Institution. She was convicted in July 2023 for the murder of Shad Thyrion, whom she killed during a drug-fueled encounter in the basement of Thyrion’s mother’s home. Schabusiness strangled, decapitated, and dismembered Thyrion, leaving his body parts throughout the house and in a vehicle.
This is not the first time Schabusiness has exhibited violent behavior in court. In February 2023, she attacked her then-lawyer, Quinn Jolly, during a hearing. Recently, she was also involved in an altercation with a prison guard.
Following Friday’s incident, the judge announced that future hearings will proceed with Schabusiness appearing via Zoom to ensure safety in the courtroom.
