LANCASTER (CNS) – Four male juvenile suspects were taken into custody in connection with a series of Lancaster carjackings, authorities announced Thursday.
Deputies responded to three carjackings between Jan. 16 and 19, according to the sheriff’s department. The crimes occurred in the 2300 block of West Lancaster Boulevard, the 2000 block of East Avenue J, and the 800 block of East Avenue J.
Sheriff’s officials said that in each crime, the victims, all in their 60s and residents of Lancaster, were attacked before their vehicles were stolen.
Lancaster Community Appreciation Program investigators determined that at least one of the victims sustained severe trauma from the alleged attack, and four male suspects aged 14 to 17 were identified as suspects.
The names of the suspects were withheld due to their age, and they were booked on suspicion of carjacking and attempted murder.
Anyone with additional information regarding the carjackings was urged to contact Detective Benjamin Casebolt at 661-948-8466 or by email at Bjcasebo@lasd.org.
