4.0 Magnitude Earthquake Reported In US

A 4.0-magnitude earthquake was reported in California on Monday (April 14), according to the United States Geological Survey.

The earthquake was centered in Julian in San Diego County, at a depth of 12.6 kilometers (about 7.9 miles). The USGS said it received 819 reports of people having felt the earthquake at the time of publication.

The earthquake was among the aftershocks of a 5.2-magnitude earthquake reported in Julian on Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey. The initial earthquake was centered at a depth of 13.4 kilometers (about eight miles) with more than 41,000 reports of people having felt it.
