3 High School Seniors Killed During Spring Break Vacation

Three Massachusetts high school seniors were killed and a fourth is in critical condition follow a horrific car crash that took place while they were spending their Spring Break vacation in Florida.

Jimmy McIntosh, Hannah Wasserman and Maisey O’Donnell, all 18-year-old Concord-Carlisle High School students, were confirmed to have died in the accident while an unidentified peer was reported to be in critical condition, NBC Boston reports. McIntosh was reported to be driving the vehicle and wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, which resulted in both he and Wasserman being pronounced dead at the scene.

O’Donnell, a two-time Massachusetts state diving champion, and the unidentified Concord-Carlisle High School student were both rushed to Bay Medical Center, where O’Donnell was pronounced dead. Investigators are still working to determine whether Wasserman, O’Donnell and the fourth student were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer driven by a 19-year-old who wasn’t injured in the crash, according to WCVB. The incident is still being investigated by the Florida Highway Patrol.

Concord-Carlisle Regional School District Superintendent Laurie Hunter confirmed that the three students were killed in a crash in a statement obtained by WCVB.

“We are very appreciative of the outpouring of love during what is absolutely heartbreaking,” Hunter said. “We also appreciate the wish to feel purposeful and not helpless. At this time, it is most appropriate that no action be taken to honor the students without the full consent of the families and appropriate support for so many young people facing unfathomable loss.”
