Former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Zachariah Branch was arrested early Sunday (April 19) morning, just four days ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, according to the Athens Clarke County arrest log via ESPN.
Branch, 22, is facing misdemeanor charges of obstructing public sidewalks/streets – prowling and obstruction of a law enforcement officer in connection with the incident in, which resulted in him being booked at 1:26 a.m. local time and released at 3:44 a.m. after posting $39 bond. An officer alleged that Branch failed “to comply with multiple verbal lawful commands” to not block a public sidewalk in a police report obtained by NFL Network‘s Tom Pelissero.
Branch was reportedly in attendance for the Bulldogs’ spring game on Saturday (April 18), which his brother, Zion, a safety for Georgia, played in. The wide receiver is projected to be selected in the second-round of the 2026 NFL Draft following his final collegiate season at Georgia in 2025 after two at USC.
The Nevada native was a first-team All-American and first-team All-Pac-12 selection in 2023 and a second-team All-SEC in 2025, recording a career best 73 receptions for 744 yards and five touchdowns, as well as 10 kickoff returns for 205 yards (20.5 average) and 13 punt returns for 157 yards during his lone season with the Bulldogs.
