Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil is emphatically denying a report that said a feud between him and drummer Tommy Lee is preventing a massive comeback tour.
Radar Online cited anonymous sources in a report that said Mötley Crüe had been offered $150 million by Live Nation under one condition: Neil had to lose weight and get treatment. Radar Online said Neil’s response was that Lee needed help first.
The whole thing didn’t sit well with Neil, who set the record straight with a post on Twitter. He called the rumors false.
“I haven’t spoken to any band member’s since movie premiere,” he said. “I had to cancel shows due to back problems which I am getting treatment now. There is no tension between me and Tommy. Don’t believe anything from these so-called gossip sites. Keep Rocking.”
Despite Neil, Lee, bassist Nikki Sixx and guitarist Mick Mars signing a cessation from touring agreement, there’s been speculation of a comeback since Mötley Crüe’s popular biopic The Dirt premiered on Netflix earlier this year. Neil has been touring on his own in recent months.
One interesting thing to note is that Neil specifically did not deny the existence of a tour offer or that it could happen.
