$2.7M in Illegal Cannabis Seized Near Angel Stadium

More than $2.7 million worth of illegal cannabis was seized from a warehouse near Angel Stadium in Anaheim earlier this month, officials announced Tuesday. The operation, led by the Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) with support from Anaheim’s Police Department and code-enforcement division, uncovered an illegal indoor cultivation and manufacturing site on South Dupont Drive on April 16.

Authorities seized 1,788 pounds of cannabis plants, 413 pounds of processed flower, and nearly 99 pounds of cannabis concentrate. According to the DCC, the operation was linked to organized crime and posed significant risks to public safety. Five individuals were arrested during the raid, although their identities have not been disclosed.

Nicole Elliott, DCC director, praised the collaboration with Anaheim police, stating, “Thanks to the diligent work of our officers and partner agencies, this extensive operation has been shut down.” For safety reasons, officials red-tagged the site and disconnected its electricity.

The crackdown reflects ongoing efforts to combat the illicit cannabis market in California. Authorities are continuing to investigate the operation’s connections to organized crime and are working to ensure public safety in the area.
