1 Dead, 6 Injured In Mass Shooting At Popular Fast Food Restaurant

One person has died and six others were reported to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries in connection with a mass shooting at a Chick-fil-A in New Jersey, authorities announced via the New York Post.

The attack, which was reported to be the 100th mass shooting in the United States since the beginning of 2026, “does not appear to be a random act of violence,” according to the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, which didn’t give a motive. No arrests have been made as authorities continue to search for the potential suspect(s).

The incident took place just before 9:00 p.m. at the Chick-fil-A located on Route 22, which was locked down Saturday night as investigators searched for evidence at the scene. A man who said his girlfriend worked at the restaurant told CBS that a group of masked men barged into the building, forced their way behind the counter and fired multiple shots.

A man who said he was the father of an employee described the scene as a “war zone.” The Union County Prosecutor’s Office said it’s seeking information from the public regarding the shooting, which can be made by phone at 908-654-TIPS or online at http://www.uctip.org with any information resulting in an indictment and conviction being eligible for a reward of up to $10,000 through Union County Crime Stoppers.
