A tragic accident occurred at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona on Monday (February 10) when a Bombardier Learjet 35A collided with a parked Gulfstream 200 business jet, resulting in one death and four injuries. The Learjet, owned by Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil, veered off the runway upon landing due to a reported failure of the left main landing gear.
Neil was not on board at the time of the crash.
The incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. local time on Runway 21. One person died on impact, while two individuals were critically injured and transported to local trauma centers. Another person was hospitalized, and a fourth refused treatment at the scene.
The parked Gulfstream, operated by Jet Pros, LLC, had no passengers on board at the time, and the company confirmed no injuries occurred on their aircraft. However, the Gulfstream sustained external damage. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident.
Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky expressed condolences to those affected and thanked first responders for their swift action. The airport, a popular hub for private jets, briefly suspended flights following the crash but reopened approximately six hours later.
